High there 😉 Nice to meet you! We’re the folks of Glenrio Smoke Stop, a dispensary and consumption patio in the heart of a Route 66 ghost town on the Texas / New Mexico state line (just 1 hour west of Amarillo on I-40!).
We’re all about having a responsible good time and championing the therapeutic ways to use cannabis. We feature online ordering, an express walk-up window, an eager-to-help staff, fuss-free parking, and our crown jewel, an open- air, high-vibe patio where you can legally and leisurely enjoy everything cannabis under the sun and moon and stars.

Situated off Exit Zero on historic Route 66, sits the ghost town of Glenrio–a once bustling burg on the Texas/New Mexico border that catered to travelers making their way down this iconic stretch of road. Though its population rarely surpassed 100, Glenrio thrived for decades until its economic lifeline was cut off by the construction of the adjacent freeway. Since 1975, the town has slowly fallen into decay, with only one resident remaining.
Even in its abandoned state, Glenrio has retained its unique charm. A destination for lovers of old western Americana and highway history, the town’s 17 deserted structures are a favorite subject of photographers and travel bloggers. The town has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite the sunbleached signage and overgrown entryways, it isn’t hard to imagine how it might have shined in its heyday.
45 years after the decline of Glenrio began, The Glenrio Smoke Stop, LLC was formed for the purpose of reviving the small but historic town.
The economic underpinning will be the installation of an adult-use cannabis dispensary and consumption patio – around which an array of attractions and accommodations will manifest over time. As a whole, the project is envisioned with a commitment to the community, the health of the environment, and respect for legacy.
